How Did I Become a Magician?
Unlike most magicians, I was introduced to magic by my 7 year old son, Eric. He wanted a magic set for Christmas and that led to him becoming involved with 2 magic clubs in Washington, DC. We joined the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) Ring 50 and the Society of American Magicians (SAM) Assembly 23. After following behind Eric for 10 years, I was finally bitten by the magic bug. Although I still ran my Nationwide Insurance Agency full time, I found time to learn and perform magic. I performed on weekends until I retired from insurance and now I perform as much as possible primarily for private parties and corporate events.
I have won IBM Ring 50's Dan Lacey Trophy as DC's Best Magician twice. I am a past president of both IBM Ring 50 and SAM Assembly 23. I am a member of the prestigious invitation only FFFF Close Up Magic Convention. My son Eric and I were honored to be the cover story for The Linking Ring magic magazine. I am currently the IBM Territorial Vice President for the Washington, DC. area and I am on the IBM Executive Board.
